Lara's project : Lara: "So a lot of people blindly donate to organizations or buy paraphernalia
that boasts of donating a percentage of its profits to a good cause (in this case, cancer),
but not many know how much goes to research and the actual cause (versus more advertising
or straight into the pockets of the manufacturers). The whole pink ribbon thing for example
has just become a trite symbol and has desensitized consumers to the actual dangers and
realities of breast cancer...instead people have a sort of pink fever and just keep buying,
using the cancer thing as a justification for their gross consumerism."
